Evening Open House-Style Event 6PM-10PM
An alumni-only* evening get-together is planned at the Jewish Community Center "JCC" (formerly Fort Douglas Country Club)--located just north of the University of Utah Hospital (map), the same location where our 40-Year main event was held. It's a beautiful setting with both indoor areas and a large shaded patio with a stunning overlook of the Salt Lake Valley. Dress is casual. We've learned from past reunions that most folks just want to chat, reminisce and catch up on long-lost friends. Since it's an open house-type format, so you can come, mingle, have a bite to eat, visit and stay for as long as you wish.

(note:click on any picture here from our 40th to enlarge. See 40-Year Reunion Photo Gallery to identify faces)

Food/Drinks? Provided: appetizers (passed & buffet (earlier), desserts & coffee (later). Beverage bar (cash, credit cards): soft drinks, bottled waters $3, beers $5-$6, wine, drinks $6.

Spread Out, Please! After picking up your name tag lanyard at the check-in desk, please spread out to both the outdoor patio and back dance floor area, where nostalgic videos will be running. (At the 40th, folks clustered at the entrance / beverage bar, where the noise level was a tad high.)

Share Your Pics!  Bring your smartphones and take lots of pictures! After the reunion, please email your favorites to highland73slc@yahoo.com-thanks! (photo credits from 40th Evening Event: David Bennett. Golf: Steve Hooker, Lynn Hampton.)

Update your Site Profile, Please! Why? Because you have retired, have moved, have a new email address, have new grandchildren, etc. - plus there are new profile questions to fill in!

Donations Requested In Advance
As with our 40th, so that no one who wishes to attend is excluded, there is no direct cost charged to Classmates. Advanced payment is requested ($40 suggested donation to cover costs for yourself). Donate more if you are able to help others who may not be able to do so.

If you are able to donate more than $40, don't hesitate! Unless you tell us you wish to remain anonymous, Classmates donating $150 or more will be acknowledged as 'MVP Donors,' but no donation amounts will be listed.

If you are not able to join us but can contribute, or if you missed your 'donation opportunity' when you RSVP'd, use the yellow 'Donate' button on the upper-right side of our Home Page. You'll be emailed a donation acknowledgement.

RSVP requested (Registration Closed)
We hope you can join us! So we can plan appropriately (order enough food, prepare name tags, etc.), an RSVP is required at your earliest convenience, but before the 8/14 deadline. It's simple:

1) RSVP using the 'Ticket/Activity Registration for Events' section at the top of this page. Login is required-you'll receive an email confirmation. If you're having trouble, here's a printable guide. Alternatively, Contact Us to RSVP.

2) If you're able to donate, while RSVPing at the top of this page, 'Continue Registration' to 2nd screen, where you'll have an opportunity to enter a $$ amount using the Donations box at the bottom there-credit cards accepted. See Reunion FAQs for other payment options such as Venmo.

3) If you missed donating when you RSVP'd but can do so now, or you can now donate more, use the yellow "Donate" button on the upper-right side of our Home Page. You'll be emailed a donation acknowledgement.

Why Payment in Advance? Can't I Pay at the Door?  We're trying to simplify and streamline the check-in process at the Evening Event - prepayment allows everyone to be able to just check-in then receive your name tag and lanyard. This should help minimize logjams as well as help us to be able to both firm up the headcount and pay deposits required before the event that are based on RSVP headcount. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. See Reunion FAQs for other payment options.

How can I tell who has RSVP'd? A list of folks who have already RSVP'd can be seen, if you are logged in, by clicking "Attending Evening Event" at the top of the Classmate List. If someone you expect to be or you want to be on that list is not there, please contact them and kindly direct them to get off the (freakin') fence and RSVP. If you think you already RSVP'd and your name's not there, it means you haven't - Hello! RSVP at the top of this page. Here's a guide. Alternatively, Contact Us to RSVP.

If you are unable to join us, we ask that you login, ‘Edit Profile,’ and fill the final dialog box labeled, “I won't be able to join everyone for the 50-Year Reunion, but instead I'll be __________.”  We understand some folks have non-negotiable plans and we also realize reunions aren’t for everyone, so even keying in, “choosing not to attend” helps.  Thanks.

*Note re "alumni-only":
If the non-alumni guest you wish to bring is really cool and fun, and you really, really want them to accompany you, and they also really want to come with you, then by all means, bring them. Remember there is a strong possibility, although they may not admit it, that they'll be mighty bored hearing all those stories (again) as you visit and catch up with long-lost friends. It's your choice. P.S.: This is the same format and messaging we had for our last two reunions. 5-7% of attendees brought a guest, and we were happy to have them! See also Reunion FAQs on this subject.

To register your guest at the top of this page, change quantity to "2" and add your guest's first and last name as you want it displayed on their nametag. Next, a minimum $40 donation for your guest is required in advance, 1) during the RSVP process or 2) separately using the yellow 'Donate' button on the upper-right side of our Home Page. You'll be emailed a donation acknowledgement. Alternatively, Contact Us to register your guest.

We will list RSVP'd Guests below, since only Classmates show up on the "Attending Evening Event" Classmate list displayable (after login) at the top of our Classmate List. If you've registered a guest (and paid their Guest Fee) but you and your guest's name are not listed below, please 'Contact Us' to set us straight so our count is correct and we'll have name tags for them. Thanks.

Friday 8AM Bike Activity (day before Reunion Day)

RSVP Required by Thursday, 8/17/23
RSVP using the 'Ticket/Activity Registration for Events' section at the top of this page. You'll be emailed a registration acknowledgement. Alternatively, you may also Contact Us to register.

What? Thanks to Carolyn Nilsen (Crawford) and Scott Wood who would like to invite you and your significant other to prove to the Class of ’73 that, “YES, I CAN STILL RIDE A BIKE” This is one ride you will not forget: a lot of talking, laughing, singing, pictures and more laughter. Oh, and if we get a little exercise, that will be a plus.

Where, When? Meet by 8AM on the north side of Highland High School, on Friday, August 18th (the day before the Reunion). You know that spot, where many folks used to hang out to avoid the teachers, meet friends, have a smoke, drink, or just sluff.

Route? We will take a group photo in front of school around 8:10AM, then take a couple of laps around Sugarhouse Park to reminisce about all the places you used to hide and make out. After two laps, we will proceed to the southeast corner of the park and jump on the the Parleys Trail (starts next to SL Tennis Club) and ride east through Tanner Park, where we will encounter our “One & Only” hill (walking is allowed and for most of us, a MUST). Once we have reached the top of the hill past the mouth of Parleys Canyon, we’ll travel south along Wasatch Blvd. to Old Mill Golf Course, where we will pause for a potty stop (another MUST) and another Kodak moment. The rest of the ride is All DOWN HILL, west to 6200 South > north on 2300 East > Walker Lane > Wander Lane > HOME back to Highland High.

Equipment? eBikes, Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes, etc. If it has wheels and requires balance, be there. NEW or old bike outfits. (I know some of the ladies have some pretty stylish kits they might want to share) Spare tube, (men, not the “spare tire”, we have all worked hard to acquire).

Bring? Gear, Hydration and Energy stuff, Sunscreen

How can I tell who has RSVP'd? A list of Bikers who have already RSVP'd can be generated, if you are logged in, by clicking "Attending Drop-In Pickleball Activity" at the top of the Classmate List. If your name's not there but you'll be joining for the Biking Activity, RSVP at the top of this page. Alternatively, you may Contact Us to register. Please note if you registered a non-classmate guest for this activity, they won't appear on the Attending Bike Activity Classmate List, but we'll list them here: So far: Brenda Foster (Werrett)' daughter, Scott Wood (Jodi), Todd Morgan (Chris)
